A Licensed Psychologist for over 20 years, David received his Ph.D. from Georgia State University and served on the faculty of Taylor University as Associate Professor and University Counseling Center Director. David's professional interests include individual and family psychotherapy with adults and adolescents, treating worker’s compensation injuries, personal growth counseling, and graduate instruction. He has authored numerous professional articles and two popular books, Getting the Best of Yourself and The Healing Art of Encouragement. David speaks frequently to civic, religious and corporate groups on topics such as communication, self-esteem enhancement, and parenting. David's major research area is in the study of stress and its management. He is a co-author of Coping Resources Inventory for Stress. He provides consultation for business and industry on stress-related matters. His hobbies and leisure activities include dance and popular music from the 1960s – 1980s.
