J. Aycock, Ph.D.
Dr. Aycock, a licensed psychologist since 1995, offers the following specialties:
- Managing the behavior of children and adolescents (ADHD, oppositional behavior, strong-willed children).
- Diminishing the effects of traumatic experiences for adults and children using EMDR (see www.emdr.com )
- Empowering adults to remove obstacles to their personal growth by reducing anxiety and depressive feelings.
- Mediating the stress of divorce for parents and children. Dr. Aycock coaches families through divorce as a member of the Collaborative Law Institute of Georgia.
- Enhancing cognitive and social functioning through biofeedback using the Interactive Metronome device (see www.interactivemetronome.com ).
Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M University
M.S. in Community Counseling from Georgia State University.
Diploma integrating psychology and theology from the Psychological Studies Institute (recently re-named Ridgemont Graduate University).
B.A. in Psychology from Tennessee Temple University
Prior to joining A New Start Counseling Center, Dr. Aycock served for three years as Director of Counseling at John Brown University and completed his internship at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
