Rebecca Corsey McKeogh, Psy.D.

I am a licensed psychologist who enjoys working with a variety of people including children, adults, couples and families.  As a therapist, my approach is to listen carefully to understand your desire for change in your life.  We will form a partnership to identify your strengths and resources and to view yourself, your relationships and your circumstances more clearly.  Then we can create solutions to help you feel less stuck and more powerful to change your life in a positive way.  It is my desire to help you become more self-understanding, more self-accepting, and more confident in your abilities to deal with stress, solve problems, and engage in satisfying relationships.

I have experience in helping diverse people with many different types of concerns, such as mood problems, feelings of anxiety, identity issues, relationship difficulties, healing from traumatic experiences, family conflicts, job stress, learning challenges, attentional difficulties, and behavioral problems.  I have experience working in psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, family systems, person-centered and solution-focused therapy approaches, and we can select an approach that feels most comfortable and useful to you.

Before joining A New Start Counseling Center, I worked as the director of a college support service for students with learning disabilities, in private practice doing neuropsychological assessments and counseling, and as an instructor in graduate and undergraduate psychology programs.  I earned my doctorate in clinical psychology from Widener University, with certifications in neuropsychology and school psychology.  I am married with two delightful daughters, and I enjoy family time, the outdoors, music, reading, baking, and a cup of tea with a friend.
